Information for Philatelic Dealers about World Stamp Exhibition Praga and International Fair Collector (Sberatel) 2008

The international fair Collector has been held annually at the Exhibition Grounds in Prague since 1998. In 2007 the fair was celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Participating at the fair each year are over 200 postal administrations, mints, dealers and collectors from more than 30 countries. Over three days, it is viewed by over 13,000 visitors, one of six of whom will be from abroad.

Not only thanks to its great size, but also thanks to the high standards of the fair's exhibits and organization and the fair's high societal profile, the fair has become the most important collectors' event in Central and Eastern Europe. It is intended not only for collectors, but also for the general public.
The event is always held under the patronage of Czech Post, the Union of Czech Philatelists and the Czech Numismatic Society. Visitors have experts available for appraisal and consulting services free of charge for all fields of collecting.

In 2008 the international fair Collector will be held jointly with the World Stamp Exhibition PRAGA.
30,000 visitors are expected to come to see this joint event. For more information about the Collector fair and the Praga exhibition, go on line to the web sites www.sberatel.info and www.praga2008.cz.

From 12 to 14 September 2008, the capital of the Czech Republic will become the capital city of collecting.

Site allocation and terms of payment

The certificate of the site allocation at the exhibition hall is provided by the organizer one month before the show at the latest but only in that case that the exhibitor has reimbursed the invoice. The rent for stand, space or table must be reimbursed by the date given in the invoice.

Catalogues and promotion

There will be published two official catalogues: a  catalogue of World Stamp Exhibition Praga 2008 in Czech and English languages, size A5 and a  traditional catalogue of the fair Collector in Czech, English and German, size A4. Obligatory entries for philatelic dealers into the both catalogues are free of charge.

The catalogues will be made so that they will be of use to collectors for a  long time after the show. That is why we also recommend that you advertise there (Also other advertising possibilities!).

The organizer is also preparing a  complete advertising and promotional campaign in the media both in the Czech Republic and foreign countries.

At the event, there will be a  press centre where you may place your promotional materials.

Forwarding & Customs Clearance

Centrum Sped Prague Ltd. will be at your service with their complete range of services before, during and after the event, taking care of all forwarding matters as well as the customs formalities. We recommend to exhibitors from Non-EU Countries, based on experience, that the ATA customs shipping carnet, which your country's chamber of commerce will provide you with, be used during the import of saleable exhibits for the show. It is possible to sell goods within the scope of the exhibition whilst using an ATA customs carnet. Customs duty is not required in the Czech Republic on the sales of collector's items, but it is necessary to take into account the payment of value added tax at 19% of the declared value of the goods sold.
