Fresh News:
It is a good tradition that special postmarks are used at major philatelic exhibitions. Czech Post has prepared seven of them for the World Stamp Exhibition PRAGA 2008. The author of their graphic design is the graphic artist Oldřich Pošmurný, an outstanding creator of Czech postage stamps, first day covers, postal stationery, and postmarks; they were engraved by Miloslav Bláha, an experienced engraver of Czech special postmarks. All seven of the postmarks will be used at the counters of Czech Post, at the venue of the exhibition, in the Industrial Palace at the Exhibition Grounds in the Prague - Holešovice.
The postmarks World Stamp Exhibition PRAGA 2008 ; Children’s and Youth Philately; and International Fair Collector, will be used throughout the entire exhibition, i.e., from Friday 12 September until Sunday 14 September 2008. The postmarks FIP Day and Transported by Balloon will be used on Friday 12 September, the postmark Day of the Czechoslovak and Czech Postage Stamp on Saturday 13 September, and the postmark UN Day on Sunday 14 September 2008.
